At the end of the day - what have the components of the spatial system

  given rise to? It is not the compilation

        of brushstrokes, but the evocation

                          of base, human emotion.

                                      

While emphasizing a wholistic approach to construction detailing and design, this graduate studio brought together the test of a foreign site with the complex program of a bath house resort destination.  Located in Lanzarote, Canary Islands, the building buries itself into a cliffside overlooking a rectilinear plateau of abandoned salt flats, providing the formalistic base for a series of structures that emanate a sense of solace, simplicity, and quietude.
